The Black Sox open the 2010 season with a 5-1 wind over the Yawkey League's newest team, the East Boston Knights. While the Knights would score first taking a 1-0 lead in the first inning. Matt Nicholson would hold the Knights scoreless the rest of the way to earn the complete game victory.

Nicholson would give up seven hits and walk one while strking out eight to earn victory. Five of the eight strike outs would end inngings.

On a cold night at East Boston Stadium, it took the Black Sox offense a few innings to get untracked. They would score three times in the fourth inning to take the lead for good with RBIs by Cam Owens, Corey Scafidi and Bill Reichmann. The Sox would score once more in both the fifth and seventh innings.

The Sox next game is Wednesday May 12, against the Beacon Hill Dodgers. The Dodgers come into the game 1-0 after winning their season opener 6-3 over the McKay Club.
